Baby's best sleep begins with an all-natural sleep surface. Our quilted mattress topper creates the perfect sleep environment for your little one. Handmade using organic cotton sateen filled with lofty Premium Eco Wool batting, hand tufted so the wool stays in place.
The crib topper provides a cozy, breathable sleep surface that naturally regulates body temperature and wicks away moisture. Wool is naturally hypoallergenic, dust-mite resistant, anti-microbial and anti-bacterial, and inherently fire resistant. In addition, sleeping on a natural surface has also been shown to lower heart rate, resulting in a deeper, more restful sleep.
Designed to work with any crib mattress, the topper includes sturdy cotton elastic straps sewn at the corners so the topper stays securely in place on the mattress. Recommended for infants over 3 months of age.
This product ships in a sturdy cardboard box secured with paper tape. We don't use plastic wrap or synthetic packing materials in the box. If you'd like a little extra protection, you can request your product be placed inside a biodegradable bag before boxing.
Please allow a lead time of up to 1 to 2 weeks for production.
We only use organic cotton, natural and organic wool, or all-natural latex. Everything that goes in to making every Holy Lamb product comes to us from nature. You won't find synthetic materials or chemical additives in anything we create. This Topper is made using our 100% organic cotton fabric and filled with our Premium Eco Wool.
Our cotton is grown in India, then milled and finished in a GOTS-certified facility in Pakistan. Never bleached or dyed, our fabric is naturally soft and durable - And it's all certified 100% organic.
We offer a pristine natural wool sourced from a co-op of small sheep farmers in the western US, and a GOTS-certified organic option from New Zealand. None of our wool is ever carbonized or bleached, and sheep dipping is never practiced.
Sunning your topper periodically will keep it refreshed and revitalize the wool. Spot clean according to our care instructions for as long as possible to extend the life of your topper.
In the case of large spills, the Crib Topper can be machined washed in cold water. Manually set to soak and spin cycles only. Do not use the wash cycle, which agitates and can ruin your topper.
For stained items, add a dose of live cultured enzymes (such as Bac-Out by Biokleen) during soak. Drape in the sun or warm place to dry. Do not wring or machine dry. Please keep in mind that machine washing can change the feeling of the topper to an extent.
There is a natural compression of the wool during the first few weeks of use, of 15%-20%. This is due to the felting process of the wool and will settle after the initial break-in period. For even wear and optimum comfort, we recommend alternately flipping (turning over) and rotating (head to foot) the topper periodically. Do this once a week for the first few months, then every few months as needed.
The scent of wool - Our wool, both natural and organic, is cleaned and processed naturally without the use of harsh chemicals. That's why you may notice the mild sweet scent of sunny farm pastures when you receive your new wool product. The wool retains 1% of the naturally occurring lanolin oil, which helps condition the fibers and keep them fluffy and soft for years to come. Most customers find the scent dissipates within a few days.
To preserve and extend the life of your quilted topper, try our Moisture Barriers and Puddle Pads for extra protection.
Wool is temperature regulating and can absorb moisture and transport it away from the body, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Wool is naturally mildew & dust mite resistant because of tiny bulbs on the fibers - making it an excellent hypoallergenic material.
Wool is fire-resistant, requiring a very high ignition temperature and large amounts of oxygen to burn.
Wool is biodegradable! This makes our wool & cotton products fully compostable at the end of their life, leaving no waste behind!

Wool does a terrific job of keeping you warm in the winter and is a superstar fiber when it comes to moisture wicking. It’s why wool is our go-to option when it’s time to bundle up for colder weather. The basic science is simple: wool fibers absorb moisture and release it into the air.
